What is Relaxing Massage? 

Massage therapy is one of the best antidotes for stress. Massage boosts the body's immune system, which can become compromised from extended periods of stress. Tension can build up in the muscles, causing a decrease in circulation and nutrient delivery to tissues. Manipulation of the soft tissue decreases muscular tension, increases removal of metabolic waste and promotes nutrient delivery to healing tissue. Knots in your muscles can inhibit your ability to perform regular, daily tasks. As other parts of your body try to compensate for the ache of a tight muscle, they also start to become tight and uncomfortable. Before long, an injury that began in your neck can trace to your shoulder, down your arm and into your wrist. The chain reaction can take innumerable forms, but none of them are pleasant.

I typically use my hands and fingers for massage but may also use my forearms, and elbows depending on how deep you like your massage. My massage range from light stroking to deep pressure techniques. With dimmed lights, soothing music, the pleasant fragrance of a mild oil or candles and my relaxing massage techniques, you'll actually feel the stress leaving your body.

What is Thai Massage?
Thai massage is most different from other forms of massage in that there is no oil used, that the practitioner uses a comfortable floor mat (as opposed to a table), and that the client remains comfortable clothed throughout the massage. Thai massage blends point pressure and stretching benefiting those who find themselves stiff, sore, and tired from over-exertion in work or sports, or from arthritis or other debilitating diseases. Thai massage enhances strength and flexibility, relaxes sore or tense muscles, and can help to recapture lost range of motion. By encouraging lymphatic function, this traditional massage can also detoxify the body, heighten the immune system, and prevent disease and/or injury by promoting flexibility. Thai massage can be a beautiful blend of stretching and energy work executed effortlessly by the therapist with proper training. 

What is Reflexology?

A scientific explanation is that the pressure sends signals that balance the nervous system or release chemicals such as endorphins that reduce pain and stress. Most people find reflexology for the most part to be very relaxing.

Reflexology shouldn't be painful. Some areas may be tender or sore, and the I may spend extra time on these points to relieve the pain. The soreness should decrease with pressure.

If you're ticklish, don't worry. The firm pressure to the feet will relieve the ticklishness.

What is Therapeutic Massage?

Therapeutic massage is recommended for individuals that have aches and pains that will not go away, with just a basic massage. It is also recommended for individuals that have joint and muscle pain. Some Chinese oils can be used, that heat up on contact and create a deep penetrating heat that sooth and relax the muscles while allowing the body to relax.

What is Therapeutic Touch?

The most basic form of therapeutic touch therapy begins by using the hands to gently glide close over the body without actually touching. This allows my energy field to connect with the energy field of my clients. Once the connection is established, I can follow the flow of energy to the major medians or Chakras in the body and determine where the flow is inhibited or blocked. Since each median or chakra is related to some aspect of physical, mental, or spiritual vitality, a blockage will produce a negative impact on some aspect of a persons well-being.

Once the blockage is located, the second stage of therapeutic touch therapy can begin. This involve therapeutic touch massage techniques to relax the individual and stimulate a proper flow of energy once more. As part of the massage, using a variant of acupressure to clear blockages will be incorporated, and very light and gentle strokes will be applied. During the massage, there will be some type of soothing music to relax the atmosphere.

What is Reiki Massage?

Reiki is not massage, but it can be combined with massage for reiki healing. Reiki massage has been used to help patients manage pain and increase their quality of living. Reiki massage is different from normal massage because I do not knead or manipulate the tissues or muscles of my client. Instead, my hands remain still or I apply very light, and the energy of healing is sent through the channels of the practitioner into the patient.

If you are nervous about your first massage treatment combining Reiki and traditional massage, there is no need. It is very relaxing and healing for your body. I will not do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. You will remain completely clothed, as it is not necessary for there to be skin to-skin contact. Reiki massage can even be used to send energy to broken bones or injuries that are covered by casts and bandages.
